Fed through a power failure.
That is Mary: calm when the room gets complicated.Meet the woman behind Wildflour
I did not inherit a recipe box. I built one. It grew from burned macaroni, West Texas grit, New Orleans tradition, restaurant kitchens, classrooms, celebrations, and one brave attempt at a time.
No one taught me how to cook. I was seven years old the first time I burned myself making macaroni and cheese, and I learned early that confidence is not something you wait to feel. It is something you build every time you try.
I turned that lesson into a life as a culinary educator, caterer, hospitality professional, restaurant manager, business owner, and teacher. I know how to command the details of a major event. I also know how to stand beside someone who is certain they cannot cook until their whole expression changes: “I made that.”
No one taught me how to cook. I built my life around making sure other people never have to learn alone.
Food became even more personal when cancer took both of my parents. My mother was my best friend, my person. I responded to some of that grief by writing a book about healthy foods and the ways we can care for our bodies through what we eat.
Food became more than my profession. It became a way to fight back, a way to comfort, and a way to keep caring for people when I could not fix what was hurting them.
Today, I am a single mother raising two adventurous boys, Lennon and Harrison. I work two jobs, teach, coach baseball, plan family adventures, and occasionally agree to projects that require power tools and more confidence than experience.
I understand the pressure of planning the meal, buying the groceries, working around everyone’s schedules, making something they will actually eat, and trying to be present when you are already exhausted. I am not teaching from an imaginary spotless kitchen. I am living real family life right alongside you.
That is the heart behind both Wildflour Catering & Events™ and The Wildflour Table™. Feeding people is how I say, “I see you. I care about you. You belong here.”

At 5:37, you do not need another recipe. You need a plan and Mary right there cooking beside you.
Most meal plans are built for families who are home at dinnertime. Yours may not be. Mary helps busy moms stop starting dinner from zero. Together, you make meals that can work around baseball, theater, late practices, different eating times, and the nights when everyone needs something from you.

The Wildflour way

You do not have to perform or pretend here. Every brave attempt is one more reason to believe, “I can do this.”
What people remember
“Mary served as the day of coordinator for my wedding. It’s fair to say it would’ve been a “hot mess” without her. She ensured the caterers got going fast, decorated the tables, organized and put away our cards and gifts, worked with the pianist on timing, lined up the bridal party and sent them in, gathered family members for photos, distributed the petals, helped box up the leftovers, and a lot of other things that honestly saved the day. She is amazing! Would highly recommend!
Sarah
“My event was flawless, and I was able to enjoy my wedding without any stress.
Elizabeth, bride
“Mary is great to work with and super flexible. The food was amazing! If you really want some good bacon, this is where you get it. 😊
Shannon
“Mary helped me create and execute a menu that was beyond my expectations! We didn’t just use her for catering, but bartending, serving, and clean up. Her and her staff were so friendly and accommodating, making sure my wedding was a huge hit! I would recommend over and over again!
